Tips & Tricks

Start a new chat when topics change

Long conversations degrade accuracy. Asking a few clarifying questions after your first message is still perfectly fine.

Some questions are harder than others

The AI works best on topics that are well-covered on the MN revisor site. Questions without clear answers or that require checking multiple sources may yield less reliable answers. Always check the cited sources.

Ask questions neutrally

AI tools like this one will often assume you are correct. If you made a mistake in your question, the AI is less likely to catch it. Try to account for your own uncertainty.

Instead of…

Why is the county required to maintain drainage ditches along county state-aid roads?
Why does my county need to purchase the equipment it gets from the neighboring county?

Try asking…

What is a county's legal obligation to maintain drainage ditches along county state-aid roads?
Can a county transfer equipment to another county? Or does it have to pay? The equipment is for the public.

Give the AI context

A short sentence summarizing of your broader situation helps the AI find what's relevant. Then just describe what you're trying to figure out.

I'm reviewing a plat vacation and need to know who would take over maintenance of the roads. Is it automatically the county, the township, or does it depend?
